Keith Gene Asher's Obituary
Age 71 of Horseshoe Bay, Texas died October 29, 2008. He was born March 14, 1937 in Kankakee, Illinois to Warren and Margaret Cahan Asher. He was a 1955 graduate of Kankakee High School. After high school he enlisted in the army and served in Korea after the war. He went on to the University of Illinois and graduated with a B.A. in Accounting and CPA Certification. Keith’s first employer was the Upjohn Company residing in Argentina and then Mexico City. In 1969 he went to work for NCH Corp. in Dallas. He excelled in Sales and Building sales organizations in Spain, Portugal, South America, Latin America and the Caribbean. He was an Executive Vice President at the time of his retirement in 2000. He and his wife Sheryn retired to Horseshoe Bay. Here he enjoyed golf, boating and waterskiing. Keith is survived by his wife Sheryn, his children Stephen Asher and his wife Julie and their children August and Avery, Scott Asher and his wife Debra and their children Jared and Jacob. His step-children Emily Rodrigues and Joseph Rodrigues III and his wife Carmen and their children Sara and Joseph IV. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Ada who died in 1994. Visitation will be from 6 to 8PM Sunday November 2, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. Service will be at 12:30PM Monday November 3, 2008 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Two special songs will be played at Keith’s request. “The Old Rugged Cross”, which was played at his mother’s and grandmother’s funerals and a Frank Sinatra song “My Way”. All of his stories of travel, work and life will be missed by all of us. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be put in honor of Keith to your favorite charity.
