Keith Ransom's Obituary
Keith E. Ransom July 26, 1955 – February 23, 2016 Keith Edward Ransom of Heath, Texas passed away in Dallas on February 23, 2016. He was 60 years old. Keith was born in Washington, Missouri on July 26, 1955 to Mildred Vondera and Raymond Marvin Ransom, as one of four children. Keith moved from Missouri to Houston, Texas in 1974 at the age of nineteen where he pursued a successful career in sales with various electronic distribution companies. In 1989 he along with a small group of friends formed their own company, Quad State Sales and Marketing, where he served as President for the balance of his career, a position which was cut short due to his courageous battle with brain cancer. Keith loved people and the out of doors. He especially enjoyed anything that involved sun, water and a fine cigar. Keith relished time spent with family and friends and his beloved dogs. He would travel to Union where he and his father would spend time together visiting and relaxing on Ray’s back porch. His favorite pastime was golf and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a devoted father and cherished the moments when he was surrounded by his children. A special treat was watching Blake play baseball. Keith was good man and a strong, loving and valued presence in the life of his family and friends. He was gifted with a jovial personality that was “larger than life” and he will be truly missed. Keith is survived by his beloved wife Debi Poovey Ransom and their son Blake Ransom, both of Heath; daughters Jennifer Ransom of Austin and Erica Ransom of Dallas; sisters Rita Ransom of Union, Missouri, Rosie Ransom Klenke, and her husband Jerry, of Arkansas; brother Dennis Ransom, and his wife Betty, of Union, Missouri; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of Keith’s life will be held on Saturday, February 27 at one o’clock at Holy Trinity by the Lake Episcopal Church, 1524 Smirl Drive, Heath, Texas 75032. The service will be officiated by Father Scott McComas who held a special place in Keith’s heart. Interment will follow at Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243. The family would like to offer special thanks and to express their sincere appreciation to Keith’s wonderful doctors and caregivers as well as to his many friends for the constant support, care and love that they showed him. Keith, you will forever be in our hearts. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Wounded Warriors Project.
