Keith Andrew Spencer's Obituary
Keith Andrew Spencer was born July 1, 1966, in Tampa, Florida to Charles C. and Carol Watkins Spencer. He accepted Christ and was baptized by Rev. M C. Johnson at the First Baptist Church of West Tampa.
He was educated in the public school system of Hillsborough County before he joined the United States Air Force. When he completed his tour of duty at Carswell Air Force Base, Ft. Worth Texas, he
matriculated at the University of North Texas. In December 1989, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology with honors. Keith was a very active member of the Zeta Upsilon Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He continued his activity as a member of the Denton-Lewisville (TX) Alumni Chapter and was anticipating attending the 86th Grand Chapter Meeting in Tampa, Florida during the week of July 17th – 24th 2023.
On September 14, 1996, Keith and Theresa were married and to this union a son, Julian, was born.
Keith was a jovial character and always aspired to improve his ways and means. He became interested in banking and financial trading. He began this interest in Columbia, Maryland at the Trader’s Library. In the 1990’s he initiated his personal firm: Cornelius-Carol Financial Trading Co. Still achieving, still pursuing, he joined the First Union Bank which became Bank One and eventually today’s Chase Bank. To further his career with Chase Bank, he attended the University of Notre Dame and became a Trust Advisor for the company. On May 24, 2012, Keith continued his personal growth and development and was employed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). In his capacity as an Asset Manager, he helped resolve bank issues world-wide, and most recently in New York where he entered his final rest on July 15, 2023.
Keith A. Spencer was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Elizabeth and William Watkins II, his paternal grandparents, Henrietta and Albert Spencer Sr., four uncles: William Watkins Jr. III, James W. Watkins, Albert Spencer, Jr. and Andrew Spencer; his cousins Andrew Sampson Jr., Katrina Robinson and Gina Wren.
To cherish his memories, a son Julian A. Spencer of Roanoke, Texas; parents, Carol and Charles Spencer Sr. of Tampa, Florida; a brother, Charles Spencer Jr. (Anita) of Richardson, Texas, a niece, Kayla M. Spencer; a nephew Trevor D. Spencer; Five aunts: Beatrice Fripp, Bellevue, Nebraska; Ida Jackson, Atlanta, Georgia; Betty Watkins, Orlando, Florida; Sherlia Wren (Edward), Willow Park, Texas; Wilma Robinson (Ralph) Dallas, Texas and Gloria Oliver, Tampa, Florida; a host of cousins, friends and co-workers.
