Kellie J. McKenney's Obituary
Kellie J. McKenney, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on September 15, 2021, at the age of 61. She was born December 20, 1959, to John L. and Marcille McKenney in Dallas, Texas. Kellie spent most of her life in the Dallas area. She was an elementary school teacher for 15 years before she moved to Navasota, Texas, where she worked for Texas Parks and Wildlife as an interpreter at Barrington Living Farm for 10 years. In 2017, Kellie moved back to Dallas to retire. She took on a part time position at the Log Cabin Village in Ft. Worth for 3 years, before her passion for teaching brought her to Treehouse Day School. Within a matter of weeks, her bright spirit and kind heart was already making great impressions on many of her students and their family.
She is survived by her son, John Michael McKenney of Cooper, Texas; grandchildren, Auroura Ricker and Kyrian Ricker; mother, Marcille McKenney Erhardt; sister, Sandy Rhoden; nephew, Tim Rhoden and wife, Lindsey; great-nephews and niece, Dexter, Lilah, Oliver, and Archie Rhoden; several uncles, aunts, cousins, and so many loving friends.
Celebration of life service will be at 11 AM on Saturday, September 25, at Warehouse Church, 600 Data Dr., Plano TX 75075. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kellie's name to Treehouse Day School at www.warehousechurch.com/give
