Kelvin Lamar Cotton's Obituary
Kelvin Lamar Cotton Sr. was born on Wednesday February 1, 1967 in Garland Texas to Mack and Gloria Cotton. Kelvin grew up in New Mount Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. R.E. Price. After moving to Desoto, he joined Cerene Baptist Church with Pastor Walter Logan. Later he united with Antioch Baptist Church with Dr. Kerry D. Wesley, where he served as an Armor bearer. Kelvin attended school in Richardson ISD graduating from Lake Highlands High School in 1985. He then attended Texas State Technical Institute in Waco Texas. Kelvin married the love of his life Yolanda Hollis and three children were born; Kelvin Cotton Jr., Kelsey Cotton, and Kailey Cotton. Kelvin leaves to celebrate his life his parents; children; grandsons, Kelvin Cotton III and Kahleel Cotton; sister Sherri Cotton; niece, Jessica Jimison; great niece, De’ojanae Pollard; the mother of his children, Yolanda Sager; his favorite aunt, Alva J. Green; and a host of cousins and special friends. Visitation will be held Friday, April 7, 2017, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Saturday, April 8, 2017, 2:30 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
