Kenneth Hudson's Obituary
Kenneth Hudson, 64 years of Dallas, Texas, was born on October 10, 1956, in Birmingham, Alabama to Mary Bell and John Henry Hudson.
He passed away on September 24, 2021. He married Kerstin Hudson on May 22, 2002, in Germany and became a father to Kenneth Andrew Hudson on November 9, 2003.
He attended Jefferson State Jr. College and Southern Benedictine College on a basketball scholarship graduating with a Bachelor of Science. He taught school and coached in the Fairfield Independent School District before joining the Air Force. He was a live-long University of Alabama football fan.
He was a kind, caring, well-mannered travel enthusiast that was able to connect with individuals of different cultures and nationalities. Some of his favorite places were Amsterdam, Holland, London, England, Prague, Czech Republic, Seoul, Korea and Munich, Germany for the Octoberfest. He was never shy at trying out international food or introducing American BBQ with his signature dish “the potato salad” to others worldwide. He loved a wide variety of music from Jazz, Rock, Punk, R&B, Soul and Classical music. Visiting the North Sea Jazz Festival year to year was his passion. Among traveling, food and music, Kenny always made sure his troops were well taken care of. Whether opening his house for young Airmen who lived overseas for the first time; offering a shoulder to cry on; guiding young soldiers through their Air Force career; functioning as the voice of reason or being the facilitator of bringing people together across all backgrounds. He loved being a leader, colleague and professional person who followed and discussed politics vigorously. While in the Air Force, he was stationed at Minot, ND; Mildenhall, England; Kunsan, Korea; Soesterberg, Holland; Memmingen, Germany; and ending his active duty military career in Ramstein, Germany. He worked as a civilian employee for the Department of Defense for another 13 years as an Air Mobility Operation Specialist before retiring for the second time, after which he and his family moved to Germany. Relocating to Dallas, he became an active member of American Legion Post 275.
He is preceded in death by his father John Henry, his brother Carl and his mother Mary Bell.
Survived by his wife Kerstin, son Andrew, brother Lamar (Gwen), sister Cynthia, nephew Darron (Mimi), niece April (Gavin), seven great nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
