Kenneth Wayne Kennemer's Obituary
Kenneth Wayne Kennemer, 79, of Lake Dallas, Texas passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2014. He was born to the late Jim and Betty Kennemer, July 30, 1934 in Emory, Texas. Kenny graduated from Emory High School and moved to Dallas shortly after graduation. He was drafted into the US Army where he served proudly and honorably. He married the late Jean Kennemer, and they lived together in Dallas and Harlingen before relocating to Lake Dallas. Their baby daughter Debbie preceded them in death. He was preceded in death by five sisters: Esta Mae Peeples, Ava Baer, Ima Hale, Marguerite Kennemer, and Violet Sisk, and two brothers: Solon Kennemer and Jay E. Kennemer. Kenny was an exceptional airplane machinist retiring from Dallas airMotive with thirty-eight years of service. Because of his technical expertise, tremendous work ethic, and honesty and sincerity he was elected President of the Machinist Union. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Lake Dallas where he served as a Deacon, Trustee, Assistant Treasurer, Property Team and loved to sing in the choir. He was a member of The Tractor Club and spent many enjoyable hours restoring old tractors and showing them at parades and events. He was known for his giving spirit, integrity, kindness, and unwavering optimism. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Sandel and husband, Mark of Kerrville, Texas; three grandchildren, AC Compton and husband, Jeff of Kerrville, Texas, Christy Sandel of Kerrville, Texas, and Markie Sandel, US Army deployed to Ukraine; six great grandchildren, three nieces, Pat Adcock and husband, Gayle of Heath, Texas, Pam Mays and husband, Ronald of Rockwall, Texas, and Melinda (Lindy) Sisk of Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Friday, May 23 at Restland Funeral Home on Greenville Avenue. Services will be held Saturday, May 24 at 3:00pm in the Abby Chapel at Restland. Burial will follow at Restland Memorial Park.
