Jesus 'Chuy' Hurtado
I was blessed and eternally grateful that I had this man as my chemistry and applied physics (Physic Tech I) teacher at East Central High School back in the fall of 1996 and fall of 1997. He made science fun and interactive with his wealth of knowledge to the entire class. Encouraging, understanding, diligent, and wants the best from each of his students. His look and demeanor would fool anyone. I took the chance and asked questions about math or science. He took some time out of his schedule to help with that. I cherish what I have learned from his lessons. He taught me something that I had never expected: to take each problem one step at a time, whether it is in life, school, or anything that you needed to accomplish. I will never forget that he was a fair and great teacher—keeping his family in my thoughts and prayers for continued peace and comfort. He will be missed but never forgotten in our minds and hearts. RIP, Dr. Lawley!!!!
