Kenneth William Maclennan's Obituary
A LIFE WELL LIVED and FOREVER YOUNG!Kenneth passed away Sunday morning March 10,2019. He closed his eyes and departed peacefully. Ten days before celebrating his 97th birthday.He is survived by daughters Cheryl and Carol and his grandson Jacob Musser.Kenneth was born at home in Hollywood, California to Dr. Stewart and Ollie MacLennan on March 20,1922. He was the fourth boy and followed by one sister.He served as a US Army Air Corps pilot instructor until the end of the war. Resumed his studies and graduated from UCLA. He married Mary Ellen Hunter in 1951. His new job took him to Dallas, Texas. They were together 63 years in the same house until she passed in March 2014.Ken had a passion for the art and history of Native Americans of the South West. He was an avid collector of kachina dolls, Indian poetry and train memorabilia. His love of the outdoors and landscaping was his lifelong hobby. Creating new settings in the yard with the cacti and rocks he brought home from his journeys west home to California.His career was on the road as a sales rep. Kenneth worked until he was 84.Kenneth and his wife Mary Ellen were active golfers and members of the Dallas Salesman Club, volunteering over ten years at the Bryon Nelson Golf Tournament. They were original season ticket holders for the Dallas Cowboys and never missed a game.He gathered friends along the way, made life an adventure and always gleaned something new of every situation. A positive and faithful force.Friends are invited to a memorial service Friday April 12th 11:00 am at the chapel of First Presbyterian Church, 1835 Young Street, Dallas 75201 with a reception at the church to follow.
