Kenneth Del Maples' Obituary
MAPLES, KENNETH DEL 61, of Parker, Texas passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Medical City Dallas. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 19, 2013 at Woodcreek Church, 3400 East Renner, Richardson, Texas 75082. Pastor Randy Huett from Life Community Church will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243. Ken was born March 16, 1952 in Gunter, Texas to Willie Maples and the late Austin Maples. He graduated from Dumas High School in 1970 and completed his technical training at United Electronics Institute in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He worked as an electrical engineer for over 40 years, beginning his career at Texas Instruments in Dallas in 1972. He was a founding partner of Eclipse Electronic Systems and retired as the Director of Operations in December 2012 after 17 years of service. Ken was a member of Woodcreek Church with his wife Donna. He enjoyed farming, gardening, inventing, and tinkering with all things mechanical. He was passionate about giving back and was involved with a number of charities, including Sharing Life Community Outreach in Mesquite, Texas and the Cure Cancer Foundation in Lubbock, Texas. Ken’s greatest delight however, was his family and modeling a gentle and Godly spirit for them. Ken is survived by his wife of 40 years, Donna; his son, Ryan Maples and wife, Carrie of Richardson, Texas; granddaughters, Macey and Shelby Maples of Richardson, Texas; son, Drew Maples of Garland, Texas and fiance, Randee Ferguson; daughter, Tamara Maples of Kerville, Texas; mother, Willie Maples of Dumas, Texas; brother, Billy Maples of Woodward, Oklahoma; brother, Trenton Maples and wife, Darlenne of Amarillo, Texas; sister, Sharon Maples and husband, Brad of Panhandle, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father, Austin Maples; mother-in-law, Mandy Williams; and father-in-law, Rube Williams.
