Kenneth “Ken” Elmo Perkins

Kenneth Elmo Perkins died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 11, 2021, after a short battle with cancer and Covid. He was 88 years old.
Ken was born on June 12, 1932 to Walter and Lillian Perkins in Nida, Oklahoma. He spent his childhood in Fort Worth, Texas. Ken enlisted in the Navy and served at the US Naval Air force Base in Dallas, Texas until March, 1954.
Ken worked for many years as a Lab Tech at Texas Instruments in Dallas and later was the proprietor of a convenience store in Southmayd, Texas. He was an avid motorcycle rider and classic car enthusiast. He was married to his beloved wife, Ida Francis, for 42 years and was a member of the Kentucky Town Baptist Church in Whitewright, Texas. After retiring, Ken enjoyed driving and delivering automobiles for local car dealerships.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ida Francis and son, Barry Bass. He is survived by his two sons, Michael Perkins of Lake Dallas, Texas and Mark Perkins of Hawker Heights, Texas; and daughter, Lisa Winegeart of Overton, Texas. He also leaves five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Wildwood Chapel, Restland Park, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, Texas on Thursday, February 25th, 2021 @ 2:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm prior to the scheduled service.
