OFFERING MUCH PEACE AND CONDOLENCES TO THE PERKINS FAMILY DURING THIS TIME OF GRIEF.......ED & SHERRE PIERCE
I first met Ken almost 30 years ago when met and married his neice, Robin. We had gone over to Ken and Francis house on a Sunday afternoon so I could meet some more of the family. We were walking up the driveway when I noticed a clean, nice BMW motorcycle in the garage. I asked Robin about it because I have a great love for most all things mechanical. She simply replied " Oh that is Uncle Ken's". I was nervous about meeting more family and when we got inside, Ken was off to the side in a recliner when my soon to be wife took off in a whirlwind of people I didn't know. I walked over to Ken and asked him about his BMW, he lit up and from that moment on he treated me like family. Holidays, reunions. funerals, and so on, I always seemed to end up hanging around Ken talking about motorcycles, trikes, or cars, or where he had been recently. I am going to really miss you, Uncle Ken. But, I know sometime, somewhere, we will meet again, and carry on our conversations about all things mechanical.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the whole family.
Most of you ,do not know me,but...Uncle Kenneth, holds a special place in my heart,I loved him so much and even though I didn’t live near him,I appreciate the times when I did get to spend time with him. That was usually when he was visiting his brother Gene,my dad.He was so much like my dad, even looked like him,I thought.
He will be forever missed and loved❤️

My favorite memory of my dad was when we were kids he would pick both me and my brother up on Wednesday to take us to throw our route of 600 papers. We would sit in the back of the El Camino and distribute our papers to every house in our neighborhood. I also loved the “rides around the block”, sitting like a “big dog” on the back of his motorcycle. Even as a kid, I understood how much he loved and respected his cars and motorcycles. It was so amazing to me that for all the years and miles that he drove, he was never was involved in an accident on his motorcycle or a serious accident auto accident.
I also can’t forget how proud he was of me when I was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1974; he would introduce me to people as “his son that just got out of the Air Force”.
My dad was also very involved in the Elks Lodge and I would drive my motorcycle up to Lake Texoma and join him when he was camping out in his Merry Miler van.
After retirement and the passing of his wife Francis, we would spend a lot of time driving around north Texas and taking all kinds of adventures which meant so much to me. It gave us the opportunity for special “bonding time”. Some of our favorite bigger trips were to California, Costa Rica and Branson, MO. All have left the greatest memories for me to cherish now that he has passed. I know feel the greatest loss in my heart and will miss him dearly.
My cousin Lisa and I grew up very close. Every time I spent the weekend or weeks through the summer uncle Ken and aunt Francis always treated me as family . There are so many wonderful and fun memories . I guess my favorites are the times we all spent at lake Texoma. I'm gonna miss you uncle Ken and I love you very much! Thanks for all you shared with me .

My father in his later years was an easy-going person. I know he loved doin what he did, transporting vehicles from one dealership to another. Sometimes traveling as far as Boston, MA. He was always in a hurry to get back, so he could get another trip. He would try and help his neighbors by mowing their yards or whatever he could do for them. When he was not driving, he would relax into his Man Cave and smoke his pipes, cigars, & watch his two TV's side-by-side on different channels and got pretty loud. When I would come and visit, I would sit with him for hours watching TV's smoking pipes & cigars. I could call me at least 3 to 4 times a day. I will miss picking up the phone and talking to him. I will miss my father very much. I know I will see him again....

I have very fond memories of dad growing up. He brought me to car races, motorcycle races, wrestling and roller derby; always something fun going on. He instilled in me the love of motorcycles. He taught me how to work on cars, how to drive motorcycles, but most importantly he taught me unconditional love.
Dad was a straight shooter and always said what was on his mind, good or bad. My life was better for knowing him, there was always “Love”. The way he cared and loved my mother has helped me in my own marriage.
I have nothing but fond memories of dad and I will be forever grateful to him. I will miss him….. Until we meet again.
