Kenneth Brian Varker's Obituary
Varker, Kenneth Brian was born on December 28, 1930 and passed away on January 8, 2013. He was a native Dallasite. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Dorothy Varker; wife of 45 years, Nancy L. Varker; son, Kyle L. Varker and daughter, Valerie Varker. He is survived by son, Brian A Varker and wife Irene; granddaughter, Sarah C. Varker; son, Brandon S. Varker and wife Maria; and his beloved dog, Sweetie. Kenneth was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in 1948, and SMU in 1953. He was with the Dallas Sheriff Reserve from 1952 to 1976, retiring as a Colonel. He attended The American Institute of Banking in 1966. He was a member of the Dallas Citizens Police Academy Class #1, and served on the Urban Rehabilitation Standards Board of Dallas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial can be made to Assist the Officer Foundation (Dallas Police Dept.) or The Dallas Firefighters Museum.
