Kenneth Nelson Wiseman's Obituary
Kenneth (Ken) Nelson Wiseman was born on February 9, 1932 in Covington, Kentucky to Christine Watts Wiseman and David Wiseman. He spent his younger years in Covington until his family relocated to Dallas, Texas where Ken attended Jr. High and Woodrow Wilson High School. Before graduating in 1951, Ken accumulated honors in the Dallas Historical Society, Good Scholarship Club, ROTC, baseball, basketball, and football squads. He joined the United States Navy in November of 1951 and was stationed in Guam where he was assigned to shore patrol. While in the Navy, Ken successfully completed training in Aviation Electrician’s Mate School, Navy Training School, the Bureau of Naval Personnel Correspondence Course. Ken received an Honorable Discharge in 1955 after which he returned to Dallas, Texas and began attending The University of North Texas. Ken worked for the Dallas Morning News for a period of time before spending the rest of his career working for Texas Instruments. Ken loved going to work. This fact made his time at Texas Instruments a real pleasure. Ken retired in 1991 after 23 years and began the pursuit of his other occupation – golf. Ken continued perfecting his golfing expertise two to three times a week with the aid of his confidants Eddie, Gary, Bobby, Melvin, and Ken. These gentlemen helped him attain a skill that reached heights unattainable by even the most dedicated of practitioners. Ken passed from this life on June 19, 2009. He is survived by his wife Kathy Tarro Wiseman; sons Kenneth Nelson Wiseman, Jr. and Carey Stephen Wiseman; grandchildren Cameron, Connor, and Alexandra; lifelong friend and mother of his children, Jeanette Wiseman; beloved sister and brother-in-law Mickey and Gene Enlow; niece Christine Tereska (daughter of sister Jackie), niece and nephew Kathy Bledsoe and Curt Enlow (daughter and son of sister Mickey); thirteen nieces and nephews of deceased brothers David and Bill; and a host of close friends and neighbors. Ken was a dear husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He wore many hats and wore them all to perfection. Ken left a legacy of love and caring for all of those who were touched by him. Our lives are richer because of this sweet, gentle man. He will be forever missed.
