Kenoth George Moore's Obituary
Kenoth George Moore, 90, passed away at Sulphur Springs, Texas on May 23, 2017. Born May 6, 1927 at Lohn, Texas to George Washington and Mary Gertrude Holt Moore, Kenoth, his five siblings and six half siblings worked the family farm tending animals, crops and began driving at age 11 to help with the harvest. Kenoth was drafted after a deferment and high school graduation in 1946. He served his country in World War II attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant, United States Army. After returning to Texas and the family farm, he moved to Oak Cliff where he attended air-conditioning trade school and in 1950, he met and married Peggy Nell McLean and had two sons; Steve and Tim. Kenoth spent 32 years with Dring Engineering and retired as Vice President of Sales. He also spent countless hours supporting his sons’ athletic teams and various trade organizations. A warm, kind and respectful man who took care of his family while serving others he embodied the values of the greatest generation. After the passing of his wife Peggy, he married Virginia Boyd in 2002 and they moved to Lake Fork. There, he loved the land, and was forever appreciative of the people, the golf course and his golf buddies. He will be missed and lovingly remembered as a gentle man who showed kindness to all who knew him whether human or animal. Kenoth is survived by his wife, Virginia Boyd Moore; son Steve and his wife, Sharon and their four children Erin, Sam, Dillon, McLean; son Tim and his wife LeAnn; step-daughter Ginger Boyd; siblings Margaret Sue Kunschik, Laveta Curry, Wynette Russell(husband Don) and Stanley Moore(wife Maureen) and numerous nieces and nephews. Kenoth will be interred at Restland Cemetery.
