Kesa K Harris' Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Kesa K. Harris, of McKinney, Texas on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the age of 47. Her life was a testament to love, kindness, and resilience.
Kesa was born on February 21, 1977, to Fay and Ariz Jean Harris, Jr. in Temple, Texas. As a teenager Kesa was baptized and attended 10th & Avenue M Church of Christ. After graduating from Temple High School in 1995, she went on to earn her associate’s degree from Richland College and a bachelor's degree from Texas Woman's University. After completing her education, Kesa embarked on a career in the insurance industry that she loved and thrived in for over twenty years. She most recently served as Assistant Vice President at Scion Insurance Services.
Kesa's greatest joy and accomplishment was being a devoted mother to her daughter, Riley. With unwavering support and dedication, Kesa instilled in her values of compassion, hard work and integrity. She fostered a healthy, co-parenting relationship with her former husband, Rodney James.
Kesa's role as a daughter, sister, aunt and cousin was marked by a steadfast commitment to her family, always ready with a listening ear and positive insight. As a beloved aunt, her fun spirit and wise counsel made a lasting impact on her nieces and nephews.
Her friends remember her for her generous heart, funny giggle, interest in mystery and reality television shows, love for the Mavs and Cowboys, joy for traveling, and the genuine care she extended to help out in various ways.
Kesa was a beacon of strength and grace, facing challenges with courage and approaching each day with hope and optimism. Her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched, the lessons she imparted, and the love she shared.
Kesa is preceded in death by her father, Fay Harris, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories, daughter, Riley Sanaa James; bonus son, Johnathan James; mother, Ariz Jean Shaw; brother, Jon Harris; sister, FayLisa (Carl) Suggs; nieces, Charity Jones and NaJai Harris; nephew, DeQuann Thomas; great nephew, Kaz Thomas and a host of relatives and friends.
Kesa will be profoundly missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A service to honor her life will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 10:00 am at Restland Funeral Home.
