Kevin Stuart Griffeth's Obituary
Born in Enid, Oklahoma, to Laverne Buffum Griffeth and Theodore “Ted” Griffeth, Kevin grew up with an endless curiosity and a quick wit that could brighten any room. As a boy, he could often be found riding his bike all over town—his first taste of freedom and adventure. That early love of biking stayed with him throughout his life, leading him to join cycling events that reflected both his love for the outdoors and his joy in connecting with others.
In high school, Kevin was known for his intelligence and sense of humor. He excelled on the debate team, competing at the state level and earning a scholarship to the University of Oklahoma where he studied philosophy. At OU, he played on the intramural rugby team, became a lifelong Sooners fan, and took great pride in running his fraternity’s kitchen. His early work in fine dining restaurants sparked a lifelong passion for cooking, and his best meals were always made at home - shared with laughter, stories, and, of course, the perfect dad joke for every occasion.
Kevin earned his Master of Business Administration in 1997 and built a career that reflected his determination, creativity, and love of people. He had an ability to make anyone feel at ease, whether he was telling a story, teaching a lesson, or turning an ordinary moment into something worth remembering.
He married Suzanne Brennan in 1982 and became a devoted father to twin daughters, Nicole and Elaine, born in 1992 - the lights of his life. In 2018, he married Pam Parnell in his favorite place, Lily Lake in the Rocky Mountains, surrounded by the peace and beauty he loved most.
Kevin will be remembered as a man who found joy in the little things and meaning in the everyday. He loved good books, crosswords, great food, thoughtful conversation, and a good glass of wine. Whether biking, cooking, or sitting quietly by a mountain lake, Kevin lived with intention, curiosity, and warmth.
He is survived by his wife, Pam; daughters, Nicole and Elaine; and extended family and friends who loved him deeply. Kevin will be forever remembered for his laughter, his wisdom, and the love he shared so freely with everyone around him.
