Kevin Lewis Kresie's Obituary
Kresie, Kevin Lewis, passed away on October 17, 2010 from cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends. Kevin was born to Bryce Warner Sr. and Mary Virginia Kresie in Arkansas City, Kansas on August 23, 1953. He moved to Topeka, Kansas at a young age where he remained until he graduated from Topeka West High School in 1971. Kevin attended Kansas University, graduating in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity at KU. Upon graduation, he began work with Fleming Co. Inc. in Kansas City. His 26 year career with Fleming moved him to Lincoln, Wichita, Sacramento, Oklahoma City and the Dallas area. On August 29, 1998, he was married to Dr. Lesley Chorostecki. He is survived by his wife, Lesley; his daughter, Zoe; his two sons, Connor and Spencer; his brother, Bryce Jr; and his parents, Bryce Sr. and Mary. He is preceded in death by his sister, Carol Best. Kevin valued his family and friends and loved to gather together to share friendship. He was very proud of his family. His favorite pastimes included taking the children fishing at the neighborhood ponds and hiking in Colorado. He was also an avid runner and completed numerous races over the years including four marathons and several half marathons. Through the motivation of friends he also completed a triathlon. A service will be held to celebrate his life at 4:00 P.M. Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Restland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation, Kansas University Alumni Association, or the American Cancer Society .
