To Maria, family, and friends, I am truly sorry for your loss, and I pray God brings you comfort and strength in this difficult time.
Like many others, I had the great fortune of spending lots of time in meetings with Kevin. I was a sponge-soaked up his intellect, his confidence, and how he influenced discussions, ultimately for the betterment of the company.
My favorite memories with Kevin were the COGS trips. I have many…here’s one:
So we land in Freising, Germany, it’s time for dinner and for some reason, I am beyond tired, more than normal. We’re at the regular restaurant, a staple, a place I’ve been to many times before. But for some reason, figuring out what I want to eat is like Calc 3; I’m last to order. The waitress asks me what I want, to which I say “salmon please.”
The whole table stares at me. I’m confused. And then, after long silence and a blank stare, Kevin goes, “really, salmon? Why don’t you order yourself a glass of red wine to go with it?” The whole table busts out laughing. My, my, my. I was the butt of a self-induced joke! To this day, I blame my crazy order on the jet lag.
Kevin was great at poking fun, and just when you thought it was over, nope, he’d find another one-liner (at your expense) to keep the laughs going.

Kevin was such a great man. I got to know him when he was dlog wfab manager. He had a very good and focused team. We all worked hard, played hard even where Walmart was on Friday PM with Rick, Susie and others on his team. Although I never worked for him directly, it was not needed. He knew what was needed and we focused around his inputs and his requirements. After I retired, he helped so many people shuffle based on his knowledge of their cababilites. He was a hero, my hero. Later I got to know Maria. Maria, you brought so many important things to Kevin, and we all knew even though he never said a word! Kevin, I hope we can be a little more like you before we catch up again! Thank you, Kevin.

My name is Scott Martin, and I have worked in TI's TMG organization that Kevin lead for my 26 years at TI. Kevin was affable with a great sense of humor. I recall a round table meeting I had with him, and one of my colleagues asked about one of our competitors, who was entering the phone market, which TI led at the time. His comments: They are capable and noteworthy. We have to respect our competitors and their ability to move the market. But what I believe is that our competition can't scale their manufacturing processes to low enough power and low enough cost.
His comments have stuck with me for 20 years, partly because he was right, but more important because he showed leadership and respect for our competitors. That is how we should think. That day, as a pre-eminent TI leader, he taught me a lesson in "respect" which I never forgot. I have referenced this conversation many times, and I appreciate the lesson.
I hope you find comfort in the many memories Kevin left.

Deepest condolences to Kevin’s family, may his souls rest in peace. Kevin was a great and decisive leader. Although my engagement with Kevin was limited , however one time I had to present to him for a business expansion, boy he was quick to support and provide a solution without hesitation. That will always be etched in my memory!.

My direct interaction with Kevin was recent. However indirectly it been over 20 plus years being part of ATE supplier team. He has been a visionary for TI. He has taught us all how to deliver best value and maximize revenue. He will be missed for sure.
I am deeply saddened by the passing of Kevin Ritchie. My sincere condolences to the loved ones. I consider myself fortunate to have worked under his guidance. Kevin is a legendary leader, among the many great attributes of him I would point one thing - he always made DECISIONS. You go to him with a problem to him, no matter how complex it is - you will be guaranteed with a clear guidance. We have lost an incredible leader. It is a huge loss for the semiconductor industry.
