Kim Ou's Obituary
Kim Ou, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, at the age of 59. Born in Cambodia, Kim carried with him a gentle spirit, a hardworking heart, and a deep love for family that touched everyone around him.
Kim began his life's work as a teacher in Cambodia, a calling that reflected his caring nature and his dedication to others. In 1986, he made the courageous journey to America, eventually making his home in Garland, Texas, where he built a life full of love, laughter, and lasting memories.
A devoted Buddhist who held deep respect for all faiths and all people, Kim lived with quiet grace and an open heart. He found his greatest joy in the simple, beautiful things — the laughter of his grandchildren playing outside, the sight of flowers blooming in his garden, and the sound of music shared with his brothers. His passion for planting was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of who he was — someone who nurtured life in every form.
Music was a thread woven deeply into Kim's soul. He cherished every moment spent singing alongside his brothers, and those melodies will forever be a part of the family's most treasured memories.
Kim is survived by his devoted wife, Choeb Prak; his three children, Chonavy Ou, Kris Ou, and Kembo Ou; four cherished grandchildren; six brothers; and one sister. He was deeply loved by all who knew him, and the warmth he brought into every room will never be forgotten.
Though he is gone too soon, the seeds Kim planted — in his garden, in his family, and in the hearts of those he loved — will continue to bloom for generations to come.
Rest in peace, Kim. Your song will always live on.
