Kirk was a special friend to our Family and especially to my late husband--Milton (a.k.a. "Milt"). Full of life, comical, witty, and fun to be around guy. The memory of Kirk will always hold a special place in our hearts as he was an inspiration to many.

The Mosebrook family extends their condolences to Ellen, Stephen and Gretchen and the rest of the Beckert family. Fond memories of our kids playing together, on the golf course with Kirk, traveling to Orlando with Kirk and Ellen and listening to Kirk’s stories. Had a million of them. I have so many memories of Kirk. He was such a great Dad to Stephen and Gretchen. What a fun Dad he was! And what a joker! He loved playing pranks! I remember him putting a dead bird in Chandra’s desk drawer at Yale and cackling with glee when she screamed! He was the life of the party. Your family is very special to us. Our kids climbed your tree and played with Gretchen and Stephen while waiting their turn for piano lessons. Kirk was often out there with them. He will be missed by many. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

While I have not seen your family in a long time, I hold a very special place in my heart for all of the Beckert family. I am so sad to read this news about Kirk and will keep all of you close in my heart. I read the obituaries religiously. When I saw Kirk's picture staring me in the face, I realized why I read them ... in the hopes that I will not see the face or name of anyone that I know. It sounds as though he accomplished so much in his life after his restaurant days. Sending my deepest sympathy to you.
Married to my big sister Ellen for all those years, so many family memories, so many reunions and weddings, and Easters, and Thanksgivings! One of my favorite memories happened when Frank and I celebrated our birthdays at “Kirk’s” restaurant. He treated us to a fancy, flaming ice cream dessert called a Hardy Har. As he lit it on fire, we asked why it was called a Hardy Har. His response: “Because you are going to laugh like hell when I catch my tie on fire!” Will miss his sense of humor.

We are very blessed to have the Beckert’s as extended family. Our thoughts and prayers to Stephen, our son-in-law, his mother, Ellen and sister, Gretchen. And, of course, our daughter, Stephanie. So thankful that I was able to visit with everyone this summer. Kirk was always so welcoming and kind. We love you and are praying for you.

I'll never forget my 5 yr old daughter and Mr. Kirk about 15 years ago. He was trying to tease her about something and she just turned to him, held up her hand palm out and said..... "Whatever!" We were all speechless. Kirk laughed the hardest. Good times hanging out with the best neighbors one could ever have hoped for. I will be missing the wonderful smells every evening. I could always tell when Kirk was cooking, it smelled fabulous outside. If I had a dollar for every time I said 'Yumm... Kirk is cooking again!'

The Summers Family
As an extended “bro-in-law” (my brother is married to Ellen’s sister, Amy) I had the pleasure to meet and spend some time with Kirk on the golf course as well as at the Beckert home in Richardson. The golf and ensuing “wind downs” at the tavern were special times that provided “boys will be boys” moments that remain fond memories for me.
Later, at a get together for his son’s graduation (I think 🤔) at the Beckert home Kirk and I were discussing his new (that day) acquisition, which was the latest model Ford Mustang, bright blue, powered by a huge amount of horsepower and a manual transmission. I was basically drooling over it and Kirk, being the “people person” he was, asked me if I wanted to “take it for a spin”? “WHAT!?” So I did. It was amazing and I was thrilled to have had the opportunity to cruise the ‘hood in Kirk’s new ‘Stang, although I was paranoid I would not bring it back in one piece, I did and it’s a memory that will stay with me forever.
My condolences and heartfelt thoughts go out to you Ellen, and your entire family. I’m thinking of you all and know that you understand how blessed you were to have Kirk in your lives, even though he left us way too soon. Take care and may peace and fond memories live with you all forever...
