Krishna spent his childhood and school years in India & attended the University of Roorkee, U.P., where he studied engineering. He moved to America in 1968 to fulfill his dream of higher education. Kris earned a Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Maryland and his MBA from the University of Rochester. He rose to become Financial & Strategic Planner at Xerox corporation.
Krishna married Devendra Nikki on October 22, 1969 in Lucknow, India. The ceremony was attended by over 300 guests with Krishna entering on a white horse. He was an avid basketball, tennis, squash, & bridge player. Amidst this, he started his own company that became a preeminent telecommunications presence for the state of Texas.
Throughout his life & inspired by his parents, spiritual study was a deeply engrained passion. Krishna was a founding father of the Hindu Temple societies of Rochester & Dallas. Upon the unexpected death of his son in 1994, Krishna deepened his faith & relationship with his gurus. He tirelessly translated scripture from the Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, & countless other Sanskrit texts. Krishna became known as a Vedantic scholar & led Havans to honor births, weddings, graduations, & passings for multitudes in the community. He never refused any opportunity to serve, even those he did not know.
Krishna was a pillar, a strength, a beloved guide & light to more than three generations. His presence will never leave us, as his Spirit was an indomitable force.
