Kristy Lee Hargrave's Obituary
HARGRAVE, KRISTY LEE (MOORE) passed away unexpectedly in her sleep Thursday morning at the age of 43. Kristy was born August 11, 1968 in Omaha, Nebraska and passed away September 1, 2011in Rockwall, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father, Lt. Col. Harold Wesley Moore (USAF Retired). Kristy is survived by her loving husband Chad Hargrave, daughters Caroline and Catelyn, mother Jacqulyn B. Moore of Bossier City, Louisiana, sister Kathy Stevens also of Bossier City, in-laws Guy and Barbara Hargrave and John and Stefanie Killian, all of Rockwall, Texas. She leaves behind her cherished nephews and nieces, Mike and Annie (Delancy) Stevens and Abbie, Nick, Ben, and Sam Killian. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 5, 2011 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at Eastridge Park Christian Church, 2701 N. Town East Blvd., Mesquite, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to: Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (www.ParentProjectMD.org ); Parkinson’s Disease Resource Center, Dept. of Neurology at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, LA. (www.LSUhscShreveport.edu/Foundation/FoundationHome.aspx ); or the charity of your choice. Kristy was a 1986 graduate of Parkway High in Bossier City, LA. She attended college at Louisiana State University and received her degree in education in 1990. She was a lifelong LSU fan – Geaux Tigers! Kristy began her teaching career 1990 in Baton Rouge, LA., later taught in Coppell, Tx., and was a speech teacher at Rowlett High School at the time of her death. She loved what she did, was a valued mentor, and always saw the best in her students. Kristy was a very creative person. She loved traveling with her family, making memories, and preserving those memories in scrapbooks. Kristy enjoyed spending time with her friends and keeping in touch with those near and far. But more than anything, Kristy loved Chad, Caroline, Cate, and her family. She will be missed by many. Her approach to life can be summed up with her favorite quote: “Don’t cry because it’s over; smile because it happened”. Dr. Seuss Funeral service will be held at 1:00PM, Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Eastridge Christian Church in Mesquite, TX. Visitation will be from 4:00PM – 6:00PM, Monday, September 5, 2011 at Restland Funeral Home.
