Kyle Brandon Lee's Obituary
Kyle Brandon Lee, age 46, passed away unexpectedly on February 23, 2025, in Garland, TX. Born on December 21, 1978, in Austin, TX to Steven and Neva (Nichols) Lee, Kyle grew up in Texas and graduated from Rockwall High School. He was a beacon of knowledge, kindness and unwavering positivity.
Kyle’s life-long passion for learning resulted in him returning to college as a working husband and father, graduating from Richland College, Dallas TX with his Associate in Science degree and continuing on to earn his Bachelor of Arts in Literary Studies from The University of Texas at Dallas, graduating Summa Cum Laude. As a former English teacher at Ursuline Academy of Dallas, Kyle inspired countless students with his love for literature and learning. Most recently, Kyle worked at The University of Texas at Dallas in the school of Interdisciplinary Studies.
It was at Ursuline that Kyle met the love of his life, Rhonda (Lorri) Bush. Their shared admiration for literature and reading sparked a bond that grew stronger with each book they traded and discussed.
Kyle was the emotional center of his family, both the one he grew up in and the one he created with Rhonda. His gentle, kind, and thoughtful nature made him a beloved husband and father.
Kyle adored his and Rhonda’s daughter, Moira, and cherished his brief time as a stay-at-home dad, always available to meet her every need. His courage and positivity were unwavering. Known for his infectious Dad jokes, Kyle could make anyone smile, even if they didn’t always get the punchline.
A lover of travel and exploring new cultures, Kyle enjoyed his visits to the UK and across the US. His fondness for Dr. Pepper was legendary; he even visited the first Dr. Pepper plant and museum. At his wedding, while others toasted with champagne, Kyle proudly raised a flute of Dr. Pepper.
Kyle was also a published author, whose short stories and poems offered glimpses into his spiritual and intellectual depth. He leaves behind his wife Rhonda L. Bush, daughter Moira Lee, parents Steven and Neva Lee, beloved brother Aron (Carlie) Lee, in-laws John Bush and Pam Jackson, and many cherished aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Kyle will be deeply missed but never forgotten. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Memory of Kyle Brandon Lee to: https://giving.utdallas.edu/lee
