Kyong Cha Cho Gillock's Obituary
On April 6, 2018, Kyong Cha Cho Gillock, passed away quietly in Clinton, Utah. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Michael) Doré; and her siblings, sister Kwang Ja Cho, brothers Jun Suk Cho, and Jun Jin Cho and her late husband, Phillip E. Gillock’s children,Patrick (Brigid) Gillock, Mary (Ben) Williams, Lisa Matthews (Roberto), Carol (Tom) O’Neil, and Kathleen Roe,.Known to her friends and family as Cho, she was born in Seoul, Korea on October 10, 1940 to parents, Chae Yong Cho and Se Chong Kim. She then met and married her first husband, Louis Pincock and they had one child, after which he brought them to the U.S. She returned to Korea alone and later met Phillip, who was completing work on a Government assignment. They were married for nearly 25 years and made their home in Garland, Texas.Cho’s favorite pastime was shopping and fashion trends, which she followed closely. She had a soft spot for stray cats and three of them found their way to her doorstep and into her heart. She loved and cared for them fiercely. Cho loved to share a meal with friends from her church. She was active with Binnerri Presbyterian Church and enjoyed the fellowship found within her bible study groups and various church socials. Cho loved the word of God which was evident in the numerous bibles she kept in her possession, and with the many artworks depicting the Lord that she was surrounded by in her home.Cho was able to live her final years near her daughter in Clinton, Utah, where her daughter and grandchildren provided loving comfort to her . She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Phillip. May God grant her eternal rest and peace.
