L. C. Clark's Obituary
Mr. L.C. Clark was born on March 21, 1926, in Cheek, Texas, to the late Mr. Daniel Clark, Sr. and Dollie Parkerson Clark. He attended school in Cheek, Texas, and later attended the Gulf Coast Vocational School in Beaumont, Texas. L.C. served in the U.S. Army for 2 1 1/2 years during World War II. In that time he became a Staff Sergeant, and received several decorations and citations: the Bronze Star, two overseas service bars, and a good conduct medal, just to name a few. After faithfully serving his country, he returned to Beaumont and was employed at Bethlehem Ship Yard. Later employment included: Business and Professional Men’s Club, AOA (Aviation Office of America) and Signal Aviation. He was a member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Beaumont, Texas. While living in Beaumont he was an active member of the Knights of Peter Claver and Claver Socialites. Later he joined Marsh Lane Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. L.C. was also an avid golfer who eagerly shared his talent with his grandson Timothy and a host of other family members and friends. He was united in marriage to Alice Harrison on August 15, 1948, and in this union they were blessed with four daughters. L.C. was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters: Ace Clark, Sr., Daniel Clark, Jr., Edward Earl Clark, Paul E. Clark, Thomas Clark, Lillian Duhon, and Lorena Turner. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of sixty-two years, Alice Harrison Clark, four daughters, Gailen Lakey (Willie) of San Antonio, Texas; Terez Thompson (Harry) of Cedar Hill, Texas; Alice Allen (Albert) of Garland, Texas; and Dollie Bradley (Cedric) of Lawrenceville, Georgia; devoted niece and nephew, Lana and Rapheal Deshotel, Sr. of Beaumont, Texas; and brother, John Herman Clark of Beaumont, Texas; and sister, Mary Richard of Cheek, Texas. He also leaves five grandchildren, Courtney and Timothy Thompson, Kennedy and Cedric Bradley, Jr. and Isaiah Lakey; one great-grandson, Armond Green, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
