L. Wesley "Wes" Briggs Jr.'s Obituary
L. Wesley Briggs Jr. 72, was born to Lloyd W. Briggs Sr. and Sarah Briggs on July 10, 1949 in Dallas, TX. Wes Briggs “moved to Heaven” on July 14, 2021. His most prized possessions were his four children and four grandchildren. Wes was a successful business owner for 45 years in the Insurance industry. He had a strong desire of helping others. This came to fruition for Wes when he started a nonprofit out of his house that helped provide new clothes for people in need, it was literally called Clothes for the Needy. He served as the president of Cityscape School Board and his homeowners association.
Wes loved Jesus and was an avid biblical scholar. He recently published a book on the process of effective meditation of God’s Word, revealing keys to being an overcomer through Christ called “Meditations of the Overcomer: Keys for Guaranteed Success in Life.” Plain and simple, he wanted to help people know Jesus like he did. He also loved to read, ride motorcycles and play billiards.
He is survived by his son, Michael Briggs of Huntington Beach, CA; his daughter, Jannetta McKinley and son-in-law, Cary of McKinney, TX; his son, John Briggs and daughter-in-law, Alma of Mansfield, TX; and his daughter, Rebecca Briggs of Mansfield, TX; grandchildren, Kaylee Willingham, Alex Willingham, Gavin McKinley and Emilia Briggs; brother, Larry Briggs; two nieces, Jessica Kinney and Hannah Briggs; and one nephew, Josh Briggs.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
