Aunt Jane, you were special. You were a rare individual who worked hard and always had an interesting story. You made me smile with stories about my dad. Sunny boy the spoiled rotten. You told me he always got his way. I didn’t realize you were so close in age to him. He told me about the cats and corn cobs. I wonder if you knew THAT story.
You had impeccable taste in jewelry and antiques. I enjoyed every visit we had and I am happy that I finally met you. I shared your love of plants and animals. We both soldered, although I built weapons and you made jewelry and other things, it’s not a very common occupation. We had many similarities and I regret not learning more.
I appreciated your sense of humor and forthright attitude. You were definitely a Parker.
Tell my dad, my brothers and my grandma and grandpa Parker I love them. Tell my other Parker’s that I think about them too. That I wish I had known them better.
Tell my cousin Charles I will never forget the motorcycle ride when I was 4 or 5 and I can still shut my eyes and see him laughing because he scared the bejesus out of me by pooping a wheelie. I did not I ever ride with him again and if I had been told I had to I would have fought like a cornered tiger. I still see the 70’s side parted hair with the mutton chop sideburns and his diabolical smile at my reaction.
You will be remembered Aunt Jane. I will tell my kids and grand kids about you. -Tammie Parker Johnson
