LaJuana Sue Bryan's Obituary
LaJuana Sue Payne Bryan born April 2, 1929 in CeeVee, Texas slipped from the arms of her family, to her Savior’s welcome embrace, during the wee hours of September 12, 2022. She began her much anticipated eternal life with Jesus alongside Alan, her husband of 57 years. She also joined her father; John Edward Payne, mother; Cora Stratton Payne, brothers; Charles Payne, Don Payne and great-granddaughter Baby B Knight.
Mrs. Bryan was an incredible mother to her son; Alan Brant and wife Melita, daughter; LaJuana Brenda Burnett and husband; Tom, son; Blair Daniel and wife Karen.
Grammy dearly loved her children and 13 grandchildren; Brooke Bryan Cole (Matt), Jonathan Bryan (Meredith), Katherine Bryan Dalkey, Lauren Bryan Knight (Tyler), Will Burnett (Anne), Meredith Bryan McDaniel (Jackson), Austin Bryan (Anna), Andrew Burnett, Elizabeth Bryan McDowell (John), Daniel Burnett (Savannah), Alexandra Bryan Brackens (Andrew), Coleton Bryan (Juliann), and Davis Burnett (Victoria). All counted it joy to be loved by such an intelligent, kind and faithful soul.
LaJuana chose happiness as her daily companion and gratitude was her strength. She loved her family intensely and prayed for them without ceasing. The gift of encouragement was lavished on all those who came near her. The pleasant, free easy laugh was contagious. She loved to sing, thrived on opportunities to serve and lived to applaud the best virtues in others. LaJuana was not one to shy away from hard work, whether picking cotton as a child, working as a wife and mother at home, running the family bookstore or selling residential real estate.
Mrs. Bryan attended Abilene Christian College. She loved her tidy, welcoming home and found so much joy in her garden. LaJuana penned several children’s books about the Bible and spent her life teaching and reaching others for the Lord. An devoted disciple and active member of the Church of Christ. LaJuana was a strong advocate and faithful supporter of Christian education. She was a faithful wife who cared well for her disabled husband many years.
Mrs Bryan dearly loved her great-grandchildren; Caleb Cole, Bradley Cole, Anderson Cole, Maggie Cole, Chandler Bryan, Carter Bryan, Viola Knight, Sloan Bryan, Crosby Bryan, Jay McDaniel, Harrison Knight, Edie Knight, Jonathan McDaniel, Landon McDaniel, Coleton Brackens, Lucy McDowell, Elian Burnett, Cooper McDaniel and Alice Knight. These sweet children kept her heart young and quickened her steps. They were the glorious crown and joy of her age.
It is with heavy hearts that we, her family, part with this rare jewel. It is bittersweet to return her to the one to whom she already belongs, but we are eternally grateful for the precious gift that was loaned to us. She has been taken away, but is not gone. The best virtues that were LaJuana Bryan; her unshakable faith, gentle voice, sweet laughter, grateful heart, kind friendship, sacrificing spirit, loving smile, tender soul, beautiful countenance, grace and poise remain. We line the pockets of our hearts and carry with us these precious memories and valued attributes. In so doing, the essence that was LaJuana Bryan, lives on.
She has gone to meet her Savior in heaven and invites you to meet him there as well.
