LaMurrle Meador's Obituary
LaMurrle Hunley Meador was born May 13, 1920 in Tennessee and passed into glory on December 1, 2015. Preceded into life eternal in 2005 by Alan Curtis Meador, her husband of 61 years and, in 1979, by James L. Meador her son. LaMurrle is survived by her brother Samuel P. Hunley (Milan, TN), three sons, Alan (II) and wife Lynn of Dallas, TX, Robert and wife Maryann of St. Marys, GA, and Alfred and wife Julie of Orlando, FL. She is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A veteran of the Women’s Army Corps in WWII, where a girlfriend introduced LaMurrle to her brother Alan a dashing young combat veteran in the Army Air Corps. In 1944 LaMurrle became a wife and ten months later, a mother. After mastering those venerable skills, she accepted additional work, becoming an employee and manager at John Handcock Ins. Co where she worked for 30 years before retiring in 1985. Even after her retirement, she continued to be active in the American Business Women’s Association. After great success raising boys and working, LaMurrle and Alan packed their bags and toured the country. As the years began to catch up with them, they spent more time at their second home in Rockport, TX. Upon Alan’s passing, LaMurrle returned to stay in Dallas at their principle home of over 50 years. She specified to her sons that her companions and friends during her final years should be thanked here for their loyal and dedicated service. So, thanks go to; Doan, Valerie and Lenell, not just from LaMurrle, but from the whole family. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 5:00- 7:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Restland Wildwood Chapel.
