I just today learned of Lana's death. Along with her family and other friends, I am broken-hearted over losing one of the sweetest women God put on the face of the earth. She loved making people happy. We had great times together when we could make each other laugh and be silly. Great girlfriend. Wonderful Christian wife and mother. I will always love you, "Lana Banana"! Susan Callicott

Each day I was blessed to spend with our sweet Lana as a second grade teaching partner, teaching her beloved Indy or spending carefree time shopping for treasures she would make from a simple piece of old burlap to cover a table she filled with food to bring joy to her family and friends will live forever in my memory! Ever giving to each person that was lucky enough to have known her- we will never forget her and miss her dearly!! Nancy My
My best friend for 50 years. Lana will never be replaced in my heart.
Every memory we have of Lana is a sweet, precious one. I looked forward to her coming to say hello to us after every church service. Her parties were spectacular. Visits with her were always delightful. We miss her very much.
Lana was always full of good advice. I remember one day I told her that I was really praying for patience because I was struggling with an overactive second grade class that day. Her advice to me, "Be careful what you pray for. God may just give you something more to be patient with!" Meaning, the class could become more unruly! LOL. She always knew what to say to make me feel better. I love you Lana and you will be missed. As you always said, " Happy trails to you. Until we meet again!"
My two daughters and I were invited to the Albers' home at Christmas time. Lana made us feel welcomed and special. The house was beautifully decorated and the food was awesome. Her recipes are on our list of most-want-to-make. And I have really enjoyed her blog – very uplifting and joyful. We will miss her. Sincerely, Ella Barton and Kaira & Elysa.
Lana loved to photograph doors. She noticed every detail and featured doors on Lanabird.com. I once told Lana, "When you get to Heaven God will have a special camera for you so you can snap a picture of the pearly gates and every mansion door He has designed." I will miss seeing doors and things through Lana's eyes. Carolyn Power
