Lane Tunnell Minton's Obituary
MINTON, LANE RHODES TUNNELL age 80, of Addison, Texas, passed away on May 11, 2014. She was born June 23, 1933 in Washington, Arkansas, to Thurman and Grace (Moses) Rhodes. A caring and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be remembered for her dedication to her friends, intelligence, and her love of a good dessert. Lane cherished her marriage of 30 years to Pete Tunnell, marriage of 20 years to Ralph Minton, her women’s bridge group of 48 years, and book club of 27. She also enjoyed financial planning, traveling, square dancing, reading, and gardening. The United Methodist Church played a central part in her life. Lane was dedicated to her work for the church as a teacher, day school director, educator, and Diaconal Minister. She was honored as the first female board member at the North Texas Conference UMC. She received her B.A. from the University of Arkansas and her Masters of Education from UNT. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Pete Tunnell, and sisters, Carolyn Raleigh and Jane Limouzy. She is survived by husband, Ralph Minton; daughter, Gracie Tunnell-Braun and children, Anavelle, Mason; daughter, Jannae Tunnell and husband, Ed Wilson, children Dillon, Preston, Lanie, Walter; and son, TW Tunnell and wife, Christiane Tunnell, children, Izzy, Analina. Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 17th, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Farmers Branch.
