Laquilla Ann Cates Cheek Greenhill's Obituary
Laquilla Ann Cates Cheek Greenhill, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on April 17 , 2021. Laquilla was born July 14, 1946, in Clovis, New Mexico. She grew up in Lubbock, TX, attended Texas Tech University and worked for Southwestern Bell in Dallas, TX where she met her dear husband James Jackson “Jack” Cheek to whom she was married for 30 years and who has preceded Laquilla in death. Laquilla is now survived by her dear second husband Lonnie Gene Greenhill. She is also survived by her beloved children Ashley Cheek and his wife Karen and their children Evan and Caroline; Jason Cheek and his wife Afton and their children Jackson and Austin, and Jason’s daughter Hailee Ortiz and her husband Diego and their child Ivy; together with Jack’s children and her beloved stepchildren Linda Imbler and husband Mike; Phillip Cheek and his children Ezrah and Rosie; and David Cheek. Laquilla is also survived by her brother Jackie Cates and wife Eva Lee and their children J. Lee and Andy and their families. Laquilla was unfailingly kind and devoted to her family and friends, all of whom will miss her greatly. A memorial service honoring Laquilla and celebrating her life will be held at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX, at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2021.
