Larry Don Banks' Obituary
Larry was born to Raymond & Virginia Banks on February 22, 1948 in Denton, Texas and passed away in Dallas, Texas, on Wednesday, November 2, 2011. Growing up in Lake Dallas, Texas, he attended Lake Dallas and Lewisville schools where he was a star basketball player and named one of the Rotary Club’s Outstanding Students. Larry’s love of music started with the trombone in high school and the guitar, which he played beautifully from the heart. Special times were when the four siblings got together with the two brothers playing their guitars, one sister on the keyboard and the other singing along. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Banks; mother, Virginia Carter Banks; sister, Rae Banks Adams; and brother, Raymond Kendel Banks. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Tom Carey of Hideaway, Texas; brother-in-law, Edde Adams of Tyler, Texas; niece, Lynn Phillips of Dallas, Texas; nephew, Eric Atkerson of Glen Ridge, New Jersey; nephew, Chad Carey of Dallas, Texas; nephew, Doug Carey of Carrollton, Texas; niece Vicki Johnson of Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, and nephew, Randy Adams of Houston, Texas. Larry also leaves behind many friends who loved him and he will be missed by all.
