Larry O'Shannon Boyle's Obituary
Larry O’Shannon Boyle, of Rowlett (formerly of Dallas & Carrollton). Born February 5, 1930 to Patrick Francis & Fannie Boyle. Passed away on October 1, 2019 due to complications of cancer. Larry was born in Dallas, TX and attended St Andrews Catholic School and Crozier Tech High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1948-1950, where he was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station El Toro and Camp Lejeune, NC. After serving in the Marine Corps, Larry went to work for Universal Controls in Carrollton (which later became National Meter Company) where he began on the assembly line and worked his way up to Plant Manager, and then Southwest Sales Manager. He retired in 1996 after 46 years. In 1951, Larry married Martha Gaulden. They were married 44 years, until her death in 1995. They had 2 children, Larry Don and Martha Kay. Larry was deeply devoted to his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha; his parents Patrick and Fannie Boyle, and brother Kenneth Boyle. He is survived by son, Larry Don Boyle of Texas City, TX; daughter, Martha Kay Ashley (and husband Hank) of Garland, TX; Grandchildren: Joshua Ashley (and wife, Jocelyn) of Van Alstyne, TX, Jordan Ashley (and wife, Rebecca) of Garland, TX; Lydia Boyle (and husband, Thomas Svendsen) of Bergen, Norway; William O’Shannon Boyle of Texas City, TX; Great-Grandchildren: Sophia Ashley, Jared Ashley, Alice Ashley, Anne Boyle-Svendsen, and Amanda Boyle-Svednsen; and several nieces and a nephew. He is also survived by good friends, Gary Timbes and Shirley Potter, and his beloved dog, Joe. Rev. Larry Venable officiating. Graveside services for Larry will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Restland Cemetery, located at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243.
