Larry Chandler's Obituary
Larry Chandler, born on April 15, 1938, to Maybelle Chandler of Jackson, Mississippi, was later adopted by Paul Henderson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024. A long-time resident of Dallas, Texas, Larry shared his life with his best friend, companion, and ex-wife, Trudy Joyce Chandler.
His two children survive Larry: his son, Lance Chandler, and wife, Brandy Stoever Chandler, along with granddaughters Caroline and Charlotte Chandler; and his daughter, Dawn Chandler Ford, and husband, Tim Ford, with their son, William Chandler Ford. He is also survived by two stepbrothers, Conley Henderson and his wife Carolyn, and Donald Henderson and his wife, Sherrill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maybelle and Paul Henderson; his stepsister, Linda Henderson; two aunts, Sadie Bryant and Mary Stanley; uncles, Fred, Steen, and Billy Chandler; and cousin, Guy Chandler.
Larry attended Mississippi State University, where he was a proud Mississippi State University baseball team member from 1957 to 1958. He attended the First Baptist Dallas Church. He was a passionate reader and political activist who enjoyed writing and drawing in his free time. Larry was a cherished friend to many; Larry's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
