Larry Brent Curtis' Obituary
Larry Curtis left this world with a smirk on his face and a quip on his lips. Born on a military base in Bangor, Maine, Larry spent a large portion of his youth crisscrossing the country with his military father Francis Curtis (deceased), mother Charlotte Curtis (deceased) and his younger brother Dean Curtis.
Larry was not just a man who loved to build; he was a man who loved to learn. He was happiest when he was in his shop, working on a mechanical problem, his hands covered in grease. With Jimmy Buffett on the stereo and a smile on his face, he found joy the challenge, in the process of figuring out how something worked.
He was a blacksmith, knife maker, a mechanic, Jeep enthusiast and storyteller. He loved to argue politics and brag about his latest mechanical conquests. His laughter was infectious, his spirit was indomitable, and his mechanical prowess was legendary.
In his later years, he fought valiantly against cancer and heart issues. His strength and resilience were an inspiration to us all. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched, in the machines he brought back to life, and the echoes of his laughter in the shop.
Today, as we say our goodbyes, we celebrate not just the man Larry was, but the legacy he leaves behind. In the stories he shared, the machines he resurrected, and the joy he brought to every moment, Larry's imprint on our lives is eternal.
Rest easy, Dad. Your laughter will echo in our hearts forever, and your spirit will guide us through the challenges ahead. Thank you for being the most incredible father, mentor, and friend. Until we meet again, keep those wrenches turning and those engines roaring up above. We love you, always and forever. - Ashley
