Larry Lester Dockery's Obituary
Larry, 84, was born in Amarillo, Texas on November 26, 1934 passed away peacefully on December 25, 2018 in Denison Hospital. The son of Lester and Ruby Dockery. Graduating from Amarillo High School and with some friends joined the Army/Marine Corps. He returned home to work as a conductor on the railroad and later went to work for the airline industry. Finally retiring from Continental Airlines at DFW in 2001. As a single person, Larry enjoyed riding the local commuter trains, traveling and meeting new friends along the way. Larry is survived by his extended family and friends from First Baptist Church of Dallas, Continental Airlines, the Veterans Administration, and sister-in-law Jeanette Dockery of California. His volunteer life after retirement was a tour guide for the railroad exhibits of the State Fair of Texas in Dallas, the once a year trucking show in Dallas, and the Veterans Administration in Dallas with 8750 hours of service.Visitation for Mr. Larry Dockery will be held January 7, 2019, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held January 8, 2019 at 11:30 AM at DFW National Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite charity or the Diabetes Association.
