Larry Ray Gerard's Obituary
Larry Ray Gerard, 78, of Dallas, beloved and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, died on April 17, 2023 after a two-year battle with cancer. Larry was born in 1944 in Bowersville, Ohio, to Robert and Helen Gerard. Larry received his BA from Miami of Ohio, where he was active in the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, and his MBA from Indiana University, where he met his wife Donna, whom he married in 1968. After a tour in Vietnam he started work with Sun Oil Company in 1972 in Indiana, moving with them to Dallas in 1974, Los Angeles in 1978, then back to Dallas in 1982, where he lived until he retired with Sun Oil (Oryx Energy). He is survived by his wife of 55 years Donna, of Dallas; his daughters Michelle (John) Ramahlo of New York and Suzanne (Greg) Bristol of Dallas; four grandchildren, Cora and Flynn Ramahlo and Elliot and Oliver Bristol; brother Phill Gerard; nieces Aimee Willetts and Emily Gerard; and nephew Kevin Thompson. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Helen Gerard, and his sister, Izetta Thompson. There will be a private celebration of life at Restland.
