Larry J. Hall's Obituary
Larry J. Hall passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his home in Dallas, Texas on March 8, 2016 at the age of 53. Born in Houston, Larry was a stranger to no one and a friend to virtually everyone he met. Fittingly, he spent one of his last days engaged in his passion for live music, having attended a concert and meeting one of his favorite musicians, Nick Carter. He played music himself, enjoying his vibraphones and electric guitar, and performing as often as friends and family would allow. Larry’s interests and passions were simple: music, game shows, bingo, TMNT, exploring the city by rail and by bus, and spending time with friends and family. And how he loved to laugh. No pun was beneath him, and whether everyone else laughed or simply rolled their eyes, it was as funny to him on its 25th telling as it was on its first! He loved to bake, and insisted on being the official “Betty Crocker” on birthdays, with his imaginative and colorful birthday cakes. Larry was kind-hearted, sometimes taking in a homeless person or providing them with not only food or money, but solace and friendship. He and his beloved mother Mary lived together until her passing in 2014. Larry will be sorely missed by his older brother Robert, his sister-in-law Peg, his nephew William, and his niece Helen, as well as by his other relatives and his many friends. And Larry, we’ll keep listening for your “secret whisper.” Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
