Larry James Heitman's Obituary
Larry James Heitman, 66, of Garland, Texas passed away January 9, 2021 in Garland, Texas of ALS(Lou Gehrig's Disease). He was born October 6, 1954 to James Heitman and Verna Lee Rossi Heitman in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from David W. Carter High School in 1972. He graduated from North Texas State University & received a Bachelor's in Business Administration. He married Dolores Acosta on December 13, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada and she was his High School sweetheart. Larry was self employed and his business was called "Ice Cream and More!" sold Ice Cream for over 18 yrs. He loved selling Ice Cream at Loretta Lynns Ranch in Tennessee, of Texas State Fair, Mayfest in Ft.Worth, Oklahoma State Fair and South Texas State Fair in Beaumont, TX. He enjoyed riding & racing Motorcycles. He loved watching Super cross Races on TV. Everyboby knew him as the Ice Cream Man. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
He is survived by spouse Dolores Acosta Heitman, Garland, TX, step daughter Lucia Hernandez, Garland, TX, step grandson Adam Espinoza, step son Greg Castillo, Dallas, TX, sister Linda & Phil Stewart, Frisco, TX, nieces & spouses Janet & Ed Self, Jennifer & Brandon Jonker, Jackie & George Moore, 1 step son and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by James & Verna Heitman or James McAfee Heitman and Verna Lee Rossi.
A Memorial Service will be at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas on January 30, 2021 at 2:30 PM in the Main Chapel.
