Larry D. Killian's Obituary
Larry Deverle Killian passed away on November 4, 2024. Born on May 11, 1942, to Roscoe and
Aletha Killian in Lubbock, Texas, The family moved to California for several years while he was
young and then moved back to his Texas roots for the remainder of his growing up years. He was a
proud alumni of WW Samuel High School and was able to attend two years at Abilene Christian
University before meeting the love of his life.
On March 23, 1963, Larry married Mattie Field and they enjoyed 62 years of marriage. Their life
together was a living testament to what true love, partnership and family is all about. Larry’s greatest
joy was his family! He was extremely proud of his three kids and loved spending time with all of his
grandkids. He even found a way to enjoy playing with his first great-grandchild using his walker to
take her on rides when he wasn’t able to do anything else.
Larry was deeply involved in the Saturn Road Church of Christ, where he was a devoted member for
50 years. His commitment to his faith was evident in his roles as a Sunday school teacher, Deacon
and Elder for 12 years, His teaching and guidance left a lasting impact on those around him.
Larry never met a stranger, but got to know everyone he came in contact with. This helped him
greatly in his career in sales. He has many clients who have continued to keep in contact with him
over the years and will greatly miss him.
Larry lived a life marked by love, family, dedication, and service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Aletha Killian, and his brother, Jerrell Killian.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Mattie, and his children, Lorie Harbert(spouse Andy Harbert) of
Edmond, Oklahoma, Cindy Seeley of Mesquite, Texas, and Scott Killian (spouse Sandy Killian) of
Greenville, Texas. Surrogate father to Kelly Waters (spouse Jeff). He was a proud grandfather to
Tiffani Seeley, Joey Harbert, Lauren Seeley, Tyler Killian (spouse Sarah), Jenna Bennett (spouse
Austin), Dacotah Killian, and Emma Killian. Larry also leaves behind his cherished great-grandchildren, Delilah Killian and Charlie Bennett, his brother Rick Killian as well as many nieces and nephews.
Larry’s legacy of faith, family, and community service will be remembered and cherished by all who
knew him. He will be deeply missed.
