Larry Dove Lemmons' Obituary
Larry Dove Lemmons passed away peacefully of chronic lung failure on September 20th at the age of 84. He was born on September 9, 1932 in Tyler, Texas and was the son of Glynn Dove and William Frank Lemmons. Larry attended school in Los Angeles. He joined the army in 1952 and served 2 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Jerry. Larry will forever be remembered for his food brokerage company, The Lemmons Company, which he started with his dad in 1957. He married the love of his life, Ann Vanderwoude, on May 27, 1972. They had a beautiful marriage and raised 3 children together. Larry’s kind heart had a way about him, treating everyone he met like a true friend. Larry was an inspiration to all throughout his journey of life and his memories will live on forever for all those that knew him. Larry is survived by his wife, Ann, son, Brad (Erika), daughters, Kim and Kristi, half brothers, Rick (Jan) and Bill (Joyce) along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. A celebration of Larry’s life will be held in Cox Chapel at Highland Park United Methodist Church on Saturday the 24th at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
