Mr. Larry Gray Redden's Obituary
Larry Gray Redden, “Oak Cliff Larry,” beloved husband, devoted Dad, and amazing friend unexpectedly passed away on June 29, 2023. Larry was born on Sept. 9, 1954, to Floyd and Monta Redden. After graduating from Kimball High School, he graduated from UTA with a degree in Civil Engineering. He later earned his MBA at UTD. Larry met and fell in love with the love of his life, Linda Carol, and they married on Sept. 29, 1984. He cherished Linda and the love he felt and expressed to her was one of the greatest examples of unconditional love. Larry and Linda welcomed their beautiful twins, Preston and Britt, in 1989 and there he found his true talent. He devoted his life to raising his children to be the best version of themselves. Because of his love, guidance, and support, they have both become amazing examples of the adults he yearned for them to be. Larry began his career with the Texas Hwy Dept. and after several years with various companies he was “tapped” to start the Texas division of the international Engineering firm of Parsons Brinckerhoff Inc. His strong dedication and the miles and miles he drove along the back roads of Texas to drum up business allowed him to grow the division to a multi-million dollar arm of the company and become Senior Vice President. After leaving Parsons Brinckerhoff, he joined the firm IEA Inc. as Partner & COO. His integrity, discipline, honesty, and work ethic were just a few of his wonderful qualities that led him to being known as one of the best in the business. Larry enjoyed the finer things in life including traveling and sampling wines throughout the country and abroad with his family celebrating special occasions. His lifelong passion for golf brought many newfound friends and travels to world-renowned courses. In his retirement years, Larry was able to pick up acting, pickleball, bowling, and fly fishing. Larry was most known for his contagious energy, Texan drawl, and his love for his best fur friend, Maverick. Larry’s love for life gave us all the best example of how to live life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by all. Larry is survived by his beloved wife Linda, twins Preston and Britt, brother Rick Redden, nieces Sherry Wehner and Kathy Redden, and dearly loved extended family and too many friends to name. He was preceded in death by his parents. OCL, you will be missed more than words could ever express. A family and friends visitation will be Wednesday, July 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Restland Dallas, TX. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 13, at 12:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church Coppell. Immediately following will be a celebration of Larry’s life at Hackberry Creek Country Club in Irving, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made in Larry’s memory to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
