Laura Elaine Bennett, 89, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, in Irving, Texas. She was born on November 1, 1930, to her loving parents Raymond Curry Sr. and Edith Curry (Coon) in Pittsburgh, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband Garry G. Bennett Jr. They were married on April 14, 1951 in Pittsburgh, PA and married for 67 years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Irving Texas for more than 50 years. While there she served as President of the Women's Missionary Union (WMU), taught 5th grade Sunday school for many years and also a member of the choir.
Laura will be sincerely missed by her loving family, friends and all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by daughter Victoria Lynn Bennett, sons Garry G. Bennett III, Mark L. Bennett, James A. Bennett, brother Raymond Curry Jr., ten grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
The family would like to thank the staff, nurses and care givers at Auberge in Valley Ranch who loved and took care of Laura. Also, thank you to Choice Hospice nurses for providing love, care and comfort.
Visitation for Laura Elaine Bennett will be held Sunday, February 2, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held Monday, February 3, 2020 at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church Irving 403 S. Main St. Irving, TX
