Laura Louise Cerva's Obituary
Laura Louise Cerva, 68, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on September 15, 2025. She was surrounded by family at the time of passing after a brief battle with cancer.
Laura was born on October 14, 1956 in Casablanca, Morocco to Janet Grimes and William Dille. As a military child she moved often from Morocco to Mississippi, Illinois, Texas, California and then to Missouri where she graduated high-school. In 1981, Laura moved to Dallas, Texas where she studied finance at Southern Methodist University. She went on to work as a financial analyst, working her way up and eventually retiring from J.P. Morgan Chase in May of 2025 as an Executive Director of Financial Analysis. A truly hard worker, she earned the respect of her colleagues through her commitment, reliability, and devotion to her work. In the workplace, she is remembered for her unwavering dedication and loyalty of more than 40 years.
Outside of work, she will be remembered for her amazing sense of humor and the joy she brought to those around her. Laura had many passions - she loved gardening, fitness, and art. Her talent as an extraordinary oil painter, creative crafter of handmade Halloween costumes for Megan, and keen appreciation for art were all expressions of her curious and imaginative mind. She also had a deep love for all creatures of God’s green earth, especially dogs, which brought her much comfort and companionship. Above all, she will be cherished for her unconditional love and support for her daughter, Megan.
Laura is survived by her mother, Janet Grimes, her daughter, Megan Thompson, her brother, Scott Dille, his wife Kandye, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on September 25, 2025 at Wildwood Chapel, Restland Park, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243.
