Laura Hanley's Obituary
Laura Hanley, aged 66, was called home by our Lord on June 7th, 2017 after a courageous battle with Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD). Laura was born October 23, 1950, in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Daniel Falconetti and Florence Carbona Falconetti. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend. Laura married Richard A. Hanley upon his completion of military service; they started their family in Brooklyn, NY. In 1977, they moved their family to Texas and raised their two children, Richard and Christine. They were members of St. Joseph’s and St. Paul’s Catholic Churches. Laura thoroughly enjoyed cooking Italian food and always had an open home to friends and family. She adored her grandchildren and spoiled them every chance she had. She was a member of a number of tennis leagues and took up swimming as a form of exercise. She loved traveling, taking vacations with family, and seeing new places. Laura took great pride in her work as an IT Professional of 20+ years at EDS. She had the opportunity to travel the world and made lasting friendships with her co-workers. Laura is survived by her sister, Maria Falconetti; son and daughter-in-law, Richard & Shelley Hanley; daughter and son-in-law, Christine & Adam DeMarais; four grandchildren, Daniel, Jordyn, Lauren, and David – and a number of other relatives and close friends. There will be a funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Richardson TX on June 19th at 1:30 pm, followed by a graveside service at Restland Cemetery in Dallas TX.
