Laura Kerr's Obituary
KERR, MRS. W.A. (LAURA) passed away February 6, 2007, at the age of 101. She was born in New Orleans, LA., on October 25, 1905, to Ola and Betty Hunter, the last of 9 children. She was a life-time member of Key Memorial Methodist Church in Sherman, TX. Laura graduated from Sherman High School, where she was an honor student. Laura began her career with Murphy Oil Co. in Sherman, and later worked & retired from Veterans Administration. After her retirement she worked for attorney Marvin Thomas as a Legal Assistant where she then retired again at the age of 87. She was an avid Dallas Cowboy’s and Texas Ranger fan. Laura is survived by her Godson, Dan Cox, his wife Bryna and their daughters, Katherine, Leslie and Kelly; sister-in-law, Ariel Hunter; nieces, Janet (Hunter) Counts and Betty (Hunter) Moseley; nephews, Steven, David, Ernest, Jr., Fred, James, John, Joe and Mike Hunter. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2007, at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2007, at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
