Laura Virginia Richardson's Obituary
RICHARDSON, LAURA VIRGINIA born September 11, 1925 to Snyder “Snip” Monzingo and Allie Rusche Monzingo. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Phillip Monzingo and Cullen “Mickey” Monzingo. Laura attended schools in Nacogdoches and graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a B.S. degree in science and a Master of Education. Laura taught science in several schools in East Texas, St Paul Catholic School in Richardson, St. Cecilias Catholic School in Houston, and the last 15 years of teaching at Sam Houston Middle School in Garland. Laura married Edward D. Richardson in 1946 while teaching in Lufkin, TX. Edward preceded her in death in September 1987. Laura and Edward had two sons, E. Doug Richardson, Jr. of Dallas and Phillip L. Richardson of Boise, ID. She has two granddaughters, Stefanie and Staci and two grandsons, Jeremy and Zach. Laura has one great granddaughter, Audrey Michael daughter of Stefani and Ben Michael. Doug is married to the former Joanna Stafford of England. Phillip is married to Amy Kirkman of Boise, Idaho. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM, Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Restland Abbey Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, March 21, 2014 at St. Jospeh’s Catholic Church in Richardson, TX. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Alzheimers Association.
