Laura Richardson's Obituary
Our beloved sister, Laura Lu Richardson, passed away peacefully in her home in Dallas, Texas on August 21st. She was born on May 11, 1953, in Amarillo, Texas to Betty and Raoul Richardson. Laura and her family moved to Dallas the following year and she remained a lifelong resident in Dallas. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson in 1971 and subsequently attended Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas graduating with a BA degree in languages.
She began her career at Tom Thumb then went to work for AT&T. She held various customer service roles during that time and retired in 2005 so that she would be able to spend more time with her mother, niece and nephews. Laura was very dedicated to family and took many road trips with her Mom. She also tried to attend as many activities of her niece, Elizabeth and nephew, Nicholas as she could.
She loved animals and supported many animal organizations that saved them. She rescued many kittens as her own pets often choosing those which might not get adopted.
Laura was always a strong and independent minded person. She loved animals, rock and roll music and going to concerts and valued family over everything. She will be missed by the many people that knew her.
Laura is survived by her sisters, Ruth Germany and Becky Blanchard, her niece, Elizabeth Blanchard, her nephews, Nick Blanchard and Mike Germany, her brother in law, Mitch Blanchard and her cat Hazel Grace. She also held a very special place in her heart for her caretaker Jackie Lee.
There will be a Celebration of Life for friends and family to share their memories of Laura on September 20, 2025, from 2pm to 4pm at the Trophy Club Country Club, 500 Trophy Club, Dr., Trophy Club TX 76262. We would also encourage everyone to leave their remembrances on the Restland Funeral Home virtual guestbook.
